December was Crazy

So the month of December I didn’t shoot alot of anything! It started off with the 1st snow and a little trip to NY to visit with friends and walk around  from Rockefeller Center, to Bryant Park. Then went to Philly and on the way back I found this big statue in someones backyard(Google NJBV).   I decided I wanted to take more pictures of the icicles in my backyard and then next thing I know its CHRISTMAS!!! Went to visit family and my cousin got a new puppy that she has named Peanut!! I got a new lens for Christmas but decided to exchange it after I used it to take a few pictures.. Then the last pictures I took of the year were of my nephew and niece and the first picture I took of the new year was of the setting sun and clouds above the Palisades Mall in New York….

“Late Nights & Early Mornings”

So I should be BLOGGING about more photos as I still have about 4 albums left to talk about, “BUT” I was just one of the few allowed in the Marsha Ambrosius listening party for her new album expected to be released in June of this yr!

Let me tell you all the tracks were all that I could have hoped for and more… I mean this is definitely going to be a classic summer time album, though I only say classic summer time because that is when it will be released, maybe I should just leave it as a CLASSIC ALBUM… Not just a baby maker, but there are definitely some baby making songs on there… Not just the mellow beats and sultry jazzy voice that we are accustom to hearing from Ms. Ambrosius because what we heard had so much more!!!

I can not tell too much and whatever  way I would try to explain the songs probably would not do the album justice. Let me just say I can not wait until June to purchase “Late Nights & Early Mornings” . Yes that is the name of the album(sounds hot, like you want to stay up late just talking to one of your close friends with the album playing ever so lightly in the background) nor can I wait until she goes on tour….. if you are not following her on Twitter you need to do that immediately.

The Salon shoot

So immediately after I return from the wedding I was scheduled to do a shoot for a salon. Like no seriously,  I got back from Jamaica Saturday night, and was scheduled to shoot that Monday, so all I had time to do was charge batteries and empty the memory cards(not sure if I successfully emptied them before the shoot).  The shoot was scheduled for 12pm. When I get there its pretty much like any other photo shoot, a lot of waiting on models, hair, and make-up. The models were provided by the salon most of which worked for the salon or were customers of the salon. The salon also requested that I put out a casting call on ModelMayhem for additional models in which I got a few replies but only 1 model showed up with her friend…ANYWAY…   I did a pretty simple 2 light set-up and around 2:30 in the afternoon the shooting began!!!

I took a trip to Jamaica in mid December 2009 to not only support one of my friends getting hitched but also to make sure they received some great photos to remember their special day!

We stayed at the Riu resort in Ocho Rios, which had an almost exclusive beach front, and a Jerk Chicken hut on the beach(fabulous). I can’t wait to go back…

New Beginings all over again

So wow, since our last convo my moms bday has come and gone, went and had lunch with the kids and then I was in Cali from the 24th-28th of April…..Yepp, spent the Bday out there, but I was actually out there for my cousins wedding where I was also able to practice my wedding photography.

Don’t tell anybody but I am kind of a big deal when it comes to the camera!!!  My cousin had a hired photographer at her wedding(yea not me), and truth be told the pictures that I’ve seen are not anything that should be paid for.  For real I’m my biggest critic and though everyone told me the pictures I took at her wedding were good I really didn’t think so because I was shooting lazily since I wasn’t the prime photog(I was thinkin he’s getting paid he should be doin his thing) . Now that I see his work, I look at it like what was he thinking….Like the stuff I shot was bangin!!!

Ok so enough of the wedding, I came back on the 28th which was a Tuesday and come Friday May 1st I was shooting a retirement party in Baltimore, with Jenn as  assistant…Photos came out fantabulous we printed them up and as we speak they are being put into a photoalbum for delivery…..

Things are going good, oh wait I must mention my bday present was or is a 24in iMac, that just arrived today….wooo hooo!!!  can’t wait to officially start it up…..
